The title of this blog comes from a poem by John Donne. In this poem he is contemplating Good Friday while riding towards the west, and thinking of Christ’s crucifixion which was geographically east. I chose this title because both Derek and I love this poem and John Donne, and also practically we quite literally rode westward to move here. Because the poem is reflective I wanted that to set the tone in this space: reflective, thoughtful, and literary.
Most of all, this poem is an honest and earnest soul searching that seeks to know, love, and worship God. I am consistently humbled by John Donne’s humility towards God as he writes about his walk with Christ. I hope and pray to have the same attitude and use my writing as an avenue for such.
